ABOUT PROJECT CENTRAL

Mission
This comprehensive, statewide project is designed to identify and disseminate information about resources, professional development, and research related to current and emerging effective instructional practices.

The ultimate goals are to provide information leading to appropriate training, products, and other resources that provide benefits and appropriate outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities.

Audience
The immediate target groups are special and general education teachers of students with disabilities served in exceptional student education programs, students with disabilities eligible under Section 504, and students at risk for referral to programs for students with disabilities.  The ultimate beneficiaries will be the students themselves.

Method
The professional development models currently and previously supported through the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services will be evaluated with an emphasis on determining the extent to which each model affects student outcomes.  Information about training opportunities and materials will be provided online and in print to all key stakeholders.  The entire project will be evaluated by the participants, the Bureau, and an external evaluator.

Project CENTRAL is funded by a grant from the Florida Department of Education.
