  • Addresses student needs within state
  • Consideration of state, school, and teacher issues for implementation (Level II Criteria)

Standards-Based Professional Development

  • Team applications (knowledge, commitment, and school/local support)
  • National and state consultants and mentors for professional development
  • Collaborative approach: planning, professional development, follow-up
  • Necessary materials provided for implementation (varies by initiative)
  • Related to School Improvement Plan
  • Implementation and Action Research plans written during professional development

High Quality Classroom Implementation

  • Support for implementation from administrators, teachers, etc
  • Related to School Improvement Plan
  • Classroom coaching, feedback, observations, etc., to enhance implementation
  • Continuous support and feedback through implementation from team, mentors, staff, etc.
  • Facilitate school and system support for implementation and continuous progress monitoring of student results

Evaluation of Student Learning

  • Student impact data collected through Action Research
  • Classroom and School-wide data collected
  • Participant implementation requirements completed
  • Results to inform future initiatives for teachers, schools, districts, state, project, etc.
